Historical Background
Iyengar Yoga Practice
Iyengar Yoga is named after its creator and interpreter: Bellur Krishnamachar Sundararaja Iyengar, an exceptional man who passed away in 2014.
Born in Pune, India, he was the founder and disseminator of the style known as Iyengar Yoga. It involves exercises that largely focus on the structural alignment of the body through the practice of asanas.
It is certainly very different from other yoga styles and stands out in three ways: for its extreme precision in execution, the sequence of poses, and the use of various useful props to support physical practice, such as the Iyengar chair, wall ropes, etc.

I have just completed the 200-hour teacher training and it was excellent in every way. Most importantly, the teaching was superb and I had the opportunity to put everything I was learning into practice with all the support and guidance I needed.
I found this school online by chance and came to the Misano Adriatico retreat expecting some yoga classes and a bit of relaxation. The experience exceeded all my expectations. Incredible, fantastic, unforgettable. Professional, sensitive, and respectful teachers.
I had the best experience one could ask for! I did the 500 YTT at the Monastery with Timea and Donatella. I am more than lucky to be part of this family and hope to return for a retreat soon.
