I have just completed the 200 hour teacher training course and it was excellent from every point of view. Most importantly, the teaching was superb and I had opportunity to put into practise everything that I was learning (teaching classes myself) with any support or guidance that I needed.

I found this school on the web by chance and came to the Misano Adriatico retreat with expectations of a few yoga lessons and a bit of relaxation. The experience was beyond my wildest expectations. Ah-mazing, fantastic, unforgettable place. Professional, sensitive, respectful teachers and trainees.

Welcome To YogaMea

We look forward to carrying on the wonderful journey of yoga with you... Namaste.

This short welcome pack aims to give you some useful information covering how to get the best out of your experience, daily schedule, where yoga takes place, food, accommodation and other information you might need while you are with us in Misano Adriatico.

  • Your Accommodation and Reception Times ?
We are in partnership with various different hotels, at each hotel check in time is 2pm and check out is 10am. If your arrival or departure is not compatible with these times, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you. At Hotel Silvia, there is always a member of staff at reception during the day and a night porter, however this is not always the case at the other hotels so in the case of any emergencies or enquiries please go to Hotel Silvia. We would like to inform you that the hotel staff are not members of the YogaMea team but they are always available to help with any questions you may have. Should any issues arise that cannot be solved in reception then please feel free to get in touch with Davide on the number below and he will be happy to help. Rooms are cleaned at least two times a week ( additional cleaning can be arranged if necessary). Please do not take the towels from your room to the beach.
  • How do I get in contact if I have an urgent question?
If you have an urgent question, you can contact the following people on their mobile phones:

  • What do I do if I have any grievances, acknowledgments, or feedback ?
As we have already mentioned, we value your honesty and any feedback you may have to give us, is greatly appreciated so that we can continue to improve our services to make your stay a happy one. If you have any comments to make, whether positive or negative please just let us know and we will do our utmost to act promptly on the information you have provided. We cherish our guests and we want them to get the best from their experience here at YogaMea. So, if you have any feedback please speak to us in person, send us a text or give us a call and we will be happy to speak with you. Thank you for your sincerity, it is an important part of being a yogi!
  • Are there any rules that I must adhere to when I am on a Yoga Retreat?
Although we prefer not to impose too many rules, there are certain moral ethics and guidelines that both ourselves and our students are encouraged to operate under. Along your Yogic path and here with us at YogaMea you will encounter many people of different nationalities, personalities and from different walks of life. We kindly ask that you are tolerant, and accepting of your fellow yogis. Please be polite with the other guests and staff and if there is anything that you think can be improved, don’t hesitate to let us know. As we have already mentioned, YogaMea follows a ‘sattvic’ diet and we would encourage you to do the same, however should you decide otherwise just let us know and we will help you make alternative arrangements. Smoking and the consumption of alcohol at the Hotel is not allowed (especially if you are on teacher training) if it is absolutely necessary to do either of these things, please ensure that it takes place away from the premises.
  • What food is available?
We offer vegetarian or vegan meals based on a ‘Sattvic’ diet and these are served in the hotel restaurants at the times above. It is also possible to consume non-vegetarian food such as meat and dairy but we kindly request that you dine in the main part of the restaurant if you choose to do so (these meals need to be booked in advance). For those taking part in teacher training, the rules on food and drink are slightly more rigid with no coffee, no alcohol, no meat, fish or egg (as well as no cigarettes, not that we are suggesting you were going to eat them!). If you have any food allergies, special dietary requirements or any feedback please just let us know and we will inform the kitchen and they will do their best to accommodate you. There are numerous restaurants, bars and other eateries to choose from in Misano, and the nearby towns of Riccione and Cattolica. If you would like to check out any of these restaurants or need any advice on where to go, we would be pleased to help you out. If you are planning to eat elsewhere, we would be very grateful if you could let us know in advance so that we can inform the hotel kitchen.
  • What other facilities are available?
Guests are welcome to use the washing machine that can be found on the top floor at Hotel Arno free of charge. If you would like to go to the beach and hire a sun-lounger and parasol we have an agreement with beach number 13 (Beach Nazario). On arrival, tell them that you are with YogaMea and they will give you a discount on the daily rate. The price for a sun lounger is approximately €5, €10 for a parasol plus one sun lounger and €13 for two sun loungers, plus parasol (after discount). Note: fees must be paid in advance in reception at Hotel Silvia where you will be given a receipt to give to the staff at Beach Nazario. A place will be allocated to you by the beach staff as many are already reserved especially during high season. If you wish to book a massage or any other treatments please speak to Davide or Timea and they will be happy to arrange this for you. If for any reason, you are unable to turn up for your appointment you are obliged to inform us at least three hours in advance so that it can be rescheduled. If you do not let us know, sufficiently in advance you will still have to pay the full fee.
  • What Else can I do Around Misano Adriatico?
Misano Adriatico is a popular seaside town and is well known for its beaches and the various sporting activities and events that take place during the year. You can check online the programme of activities and events that take place during the year at www.amisano.net Not far from Misano you can find the towns of Riccione and Cattolica. Both of these towns are also popular holiday destinations and have lots of shops, restaurants and tourist attractions. You can easily reach them by catching the number 125 bus on the beach road. For further information please visit the website above. Naturally, you can’t holiday in Italy and not sample the wonderful ice cream shops where you can choose from a wide range of delicious flavours. If you would like a healthier option then there is also a juice bar as you walk towards the beach and turn left where you can buy freshly squeezed juices.
  • What is the typical Daily Schedule?
There is a notice board on the ground floor of your hotel which is regularly updated during the whole of your stay. This will provide you with the details you require regarding the location and the exact times of daily yoga practice and meditation (except Sunday which is a free day). Generally, the daily schedule is as follows (please note that these may be subject to change):

    Morning Tea 6:30am
    Lunch 1pm
    Meditation 6:30am
    Morning Yoga 7-9am
    Afternoon Yoga 4-6pm
    Evening Meal 7:30-8:30pm
    Breakfast 9-10am
    Evening Welcome 6:20pm

For those here on the teacher training course lessons will be held both during the morning and additional time will be added for yoga adjustments in the afternoon. You can find details in your separate pack or on the notice board. Meditation sessions are four times a week and the exact days are communicated on the notice board.

  • Where do we practice Yoga?
We have various locations allocated to yoga practice, these are always shown on the notice board at Hotel Arno. There is a Shala (place where you go to practice) on the roof of Hotel Arno, one on the fifth floor of Hotel Silvia and one at the beach. For our yoga sessions at the beach all you will need is a bottle of water as we already provide mats and boards (unless you prefer to use your own equipment). Each beach is numbered and our Shala is on beach number 13 ( as you walk down from Hotel Arno until you arrive at the beach, then turn right and it is clearly signposted). As you walk down beach 13 you will be able to see the white structure on your right which is the Shala.

Whether you are here to take part in one of our teacher training courses or whether you are on yoga retreat you are always our guest and we want to ensure that you get the most out of your time with us. In order to do this, we would like you to feel free to discuss any physical or mental goals or objectives that you may have so that we can do our best to help you to achieve these while you are here. Any information about your goals regarding yoga or any useful feedback regarding YogaMea is greatly appreciated so just let us know and we will do our best to sort them out! All our yoga instructors are highly skilled and very knowledgeable about yoga theory, yoga instruction and the art of meditation. To watch you progress in your learning in the practice of this ancient discipline brings them great happiness! The instructors will join you at meal times (except for Sundays) so this is a great time for a quick chat!
