Yoga Teacher Training at YogaMea School in Italy & India

Welcome To YogaMea

We look forward to carrying on the wonderful journey of yoga with you... Namaste.

This short welcome pack aims to give you some useful information covering how to get the best out of your experience, daily schedule, where yoga takes place, food, accommodation and other information you might need while you are with us in Misano Adriatico.

Your Accommodation and Reception Times?

We work with several partner hotels and the check in time is 2pm and check out is 10am. If you are arriving or leaving outside of these times, please let us know and we will see what we can do to accommodate this. There is a daily reception at Hotel Silvia and a night porter but not always at the other hotels so if there is something urgent please go to Hotel Silvia. Please be aware that the hotel staff are not part of the YogaMea team but they will be happy to help with any questions or issues. If you have any issues that cannot be resolved with reception then please feel free to contact Davide on the number below and he will help. Rooms are cleaned at least twice per week (and can have additional cleaning if requested). Please do not use the towels from the rooms at the beach.

How do I get in Contact if I Have an Urgent Question?

If you have an urgent question you can contact the following people on their mobile phones:
Davide +39 347 38 31 938

What do I do if I have any Compliments, Comments or Complaints?

As mentioned above, we really value your feedback and your openness and so if you have any compliments, comments or complaints please just let us know and we will act positively and promptly on the information. You are our guest and we want to ensure that you get the best out of your experience so if you have any feedback please speak to us in person, send us a text or give us a call and we will be happy to speak with you to sort things out. Thank you for your openness, it is an important part of being a yogi!

Are there any Rules when I am on a Yoga Retreat?

Although we try not to be too rules driven, the pathway of yoga does have some rules and guidance and we try and follow these and we would ask you to as well, where possible.
There are many different people from different nations and different walks of life on the teacher training and retreats that we run and we are not all the same so please be tolerant, kind and accepting of your fellow yogis. Please be polite with the other guests and the staff and be open if there is anything that can be improved.
As mentioned above, we follow a ‘sattvic’ diet and we encourage you to do the same but if you do decide otherwise just let us know and we can help you make alternative arrangements.
Please do not smoke or drink alcohol in your accommodation (particularly if you are on teacher training) and if you wish to do these things please ensure that this takes place off-site.

What kind of Food will be Provided?

We offer a ‘Satvic’ diet of vegetarian or vegan food and this is provided in the hotel restaurants at the times above. You are welcome to have other non-vegetarian food but would kindly ask that you sit in the main part of the restaurant if you choose to have meat or egg (these would need to be booked in advance and paid for separately).

For those on teacher training, the guidance on food and drink is slightly stricter with no coffee, no alcohol, no meat, fish or egg (as well as no cigarettes, not that we are suggesting you were going to eat them!). If you have any feedback or special dietary requirements please just let us know and we will speak to the kitchen and they will do their best to accommodate these.

There are many other places to eat around Misano, in Riccione and Cattolica which are two of the nearest towns. If you would like any recommendations, feel free to speak with any member of the team or check Trip Advisor. If you are going to eat elsewhere, though, please let us know so that the kitchen can adjust their catering and thank you in advance for doing this.

What Other facilities are Available?

There is a free washing machine that you are welcome to use on the top floor of Hotel Arno. You also have free use of bicycles when they are available and you can sign these out from the hotel reception at Hotel Silvia or Hotel Arno. If you would like to go to the beach and get a sunbed we have a partner arrangement with beach number 13 (Bagni Nazario) where you can tell them you are with YogaMea and they will discount the daily rate for a sun lounger by 50% (so this will be €5 for a bed or €8 for a bed and an umbrella). This must be paid for in advance at the reception of Hotel Silvia who will give you a slip to hand to the staff at Bagni Nazario.

You will need to check with them which bed you are able to have as many are reserved particularly in August. If you are on retreat and are staying with us for more than 10 nights then we will make arrangements for you to have a beach bed and umbrella for free (this is via reception at Hotel Silvia).

If you would like to book a massage or any treatments please speak to Davide or Timea and they will be happy to arrange this for you at a discounted price of €50 per hour (prepaid at the Reception of Hotel Silvia). If for some reason, you are not able to go to your massage you must let us know at least three hours in advance so that it can be rescheduled. If you do not tell us in advance the masseur will still have to be paid.

Bicycles can be signed out from Hotel Arno or Hotel Silvia and are free to use if they are available. They need to be returned in the same condition as you took them when you are finished.

What Else can I do Around Misano Adriatico?

Misano Adriatico is a small seaside town and is really known for its beach areas and sporting activities and events that take place during the year. There is a programme of activities and events in the town during the year and these can be found at

Near to Misano are the towns of Riccione and Cattolica which both have a few more shops, restaurants and attractions including the Acquario Di Cattolica. These can be accessed via the 125 bus on the beach road. For further information please go to the website above.

Of course, this is Italy so there are many wonderful Ice cream shops where you can sample many different flavours. If you would like a healthier option then there is also a juice bar as you walk towards the beach and turn left where you can pay for freshly made juices.

What will be the Daily Schedule?

There is a daily communication board on the ground floor of accommodation for your stay. This will give you details about the location and specific times of yoga and meditation each day (except for Sunday which is a free day). In general, the daily schedule is as follows (please note that these may be subject to some change):

  • Morning Tea 6:30am
  • Lunch 1pm
  • Meditation 6:30pm
  • Morning Yoga 7-9am
  • Afternoon Yoga 4-6pm
  • Evening Meal 7:30-8:30pm
  • Breakfast 9-10am
  • Evening Welcome 6:20pm

Please be aware that for those here on the teacher training there will be lessons during the morning and additional time built in for yoga adjustments in the afternoon which are detailed in your separate pack or on the board. Meditation takes place four times per week and the days are covered on the communication board.

Where does the Yoga Take Place?

We have several places where yoga can take place and these are always shown on the board at on the ground floor of Hotel Arno. There is a Shala (place where you do yoga) on the roof of the Hotel Arno, one on floor 5 of the Hotel Silvia and one at the beach.
If yoga is at the beach then all you need to bring is water as mats and boards are provided (unless you prefer to use your own equipment). The beaches are numbered and our Shala is on beach 13 (down from Hotel Arno until you reach the beach and then going right and it is clearly signed). As you walk down beach 13 you will see the white structure on your right which is the Shala.

How to get the best out of your experience with Us?

Whether you are here on retreat or on teacher training you are always our guest and we want to make sure that you get the best out of your time with us. In order to do this, we encourage you to discuss any goals or aims you have physically or otherwise so that we can try and help you to achieve these while you are here. We value open communication about your goals and about anything that you feel can be improved so just let us know about any issues and we will do our best to sort them out!

Your instructors are all highly experienced and knowledgeable about yoga theory, yoga instruction and the art of meditation and it brings them joy to see you progress! The instructors will join you for meals (except for Sundays) so this is a great time for a quick chat!

Booking To Come and See Us Again...

We really hope that you enjoy your time with us and we love having people back to stay with us for the second, third and fourth times whether here or on our retreat in India. If you would like to book again please do so by contacting Davide directly on the number above and we can discuss dates with you and a discounted price if we are able to apply this.

If you have any further questions please feel free to speak to Davide or any of the YogaMea instructors and they will be happy to help you. We have a WhatsApp group where you can talk with other people staying with us, the organizers and instructors so please send Davide your number and he will add you to this when you arrive.
